So here it is the end of the Performance Plus Street Legal season and the final run off for the Top Ten List positions. We started out the day with a cruise from Performance Plus to SIR. Nothing to me is cooler to see then all those fast street cars heading down the highway to their home, our track to do what they were built for. It was a good day to race even though it was a little chilly earlier in the day but by late afternoon the breeze died down and it was perfect conditions to race. The Top Ten guys made a few test passes and then we got into some heads up racing. Brian was to race Trent and his Malibu and Trent was going to throw everything he had at him to give him a good race but in his second test pass his Malibu said it was not to be and shut down and would not restart so his day was done. I applaud his effort as no one tried harder to keep his car going through the season than Trent and his son Houston. Next it was Rick racing the extremely slow on the light Racemaster and my second position was gone. Then Nolan against Leroy who's 10 second car felt like it only wanted to run an 11.50 giving Nolan the win. Next it was Paul and his GTX against Scott's Cutlass and due to the fact Scott doesn't have a roll bar in it he lifted and Paul sailed on to a nice 10.88 pass. So then after a few more rounds of racing this is how it played out and here is how we finish for the Top Ten this year:

#1 Brian Stephenson
#2 Rick Bell
#3 Steve Betker
#4 Paul Fehr
#5 Nolan Penner
#6 Trent Turner
#7 Leroy Schmidt
#8 Scott Gerhardt
#9 Jaime Marjoram
#10 Curtis Knops

Some more notables was the second round race between Paul and Leroy as Leroy's car decided it wanted to be in the game and would have been a real tight races as he ran a 10.97 to Paul's 10.84 but Leroy had taken some tips on Pro Tree from me and cut a sleepy .385 light. We also added a new gatekeeper Curtis Knops as he had contacted me earlier in the week and said he wanted to get on the List. Next year we will have to start out by giving Taylor Jacek a shot at Curtis as wants to get his Dad's Firebird in the program making him the youngest driver to ever be on our List at 16. Finally I would like to thank all of you who have participated in our Top Ten program this year and look forward to seeing you guys again next year as remember we have all winter to fix our cars. We are also looking for some one to challenge our #1 guy so you guys and you know who you are get that stuff back together! This is your Racemaster and ( back to #3, THANKS Rick ) signing off till next year.

September 18, 2016 TOP 10 "Put Up or Shut Up" FASTEST STREET LEGAL

With now just one Performance Plus Street Legal race left in the season it has become basically a survival game after a season of blown and damaged engines and parts. Brian has returned with his engine fixed and so my time in the #1 position has ended as I knew it would. Brian ran his personal best with the car at this event an 8.86 easily leaving my car in the dust. I enjoyed the view of his car as I got to watch it all the way down the track. Then to kick me when I was down Trent and his Malibu blew by me and moved me down another spot however at the expense of blowing a piston in his engine. Trent is constantly exploring different combinations for his LS motor and did not seem bothered in the least at having now to fix it. With any luck he will have it fixed for next weekends final and believe me if anyone can get it done it is him. Jamie had his mustang out with the engine fixed and was making test passes and was trying to sort out his new combination. He was going to race Rick for his spot but Rick went easy on him and said he would wait till he had it completely sorted out before they pair up.

So here is how the spots sit now:

#1 Brian Stephenson #6 Nolan Penner
#2 Trent Turner #7 Leroy Schmidt
#3 Steve Betker #8 Scott Gerhardt
#4 Rick Bell #9 Paul Fehr
#5 Jamie Marjoram

We now are searching for a new gatekeeper for #10 spot as Mark is selling Red Blur to make room for his new Fox body Mustang and has pulled it of the list. Paul Fehr had his GTX out and was also making practice runs for next weeks final as he will be looking to take on Scott and Leroy next week. We are going to be cruising out to the track as a group next weekend before the final race of the year. So we need all you Top Ten cars to meet at Performance Plus at 10:30 AM next Sunday and we will take a drive from Performance Plus out to the track and we will also bring along our Real Street guys with us. So see you all next Sunday as we sort out who will be in what position for next year and Rick you can take another stab at me for my spot. So once again this is your Racemaster (and no longer #1) signing off.

August 26, 2016 TOP 10 "Put Up or Shut Up" FASTEST STREET LEGAL

Friday nights Top Ten list got very few changes other than a few fell off as they broke their cars .Last weeks racing took its toll as Andy's super quick Nova which decided to eat a couple lifters and take the cam with it. Then Justin had transmission trouble followed by Brad who welded his plugs into the heads with a nitrous problem. They all will fix their issues and be back for next year and probably all of them will be quicker. Brian on his second run lost oil pressure and now like Jamie they are both in the midst of fixing their cars to get ready for our next race that switches to Sunday from Friday night. Paul Fehr was out for a few test passes and ran 10.81 at over 124mph showing that he has what it takes to make it on to our List. Kody Rousseau was out making some runs and we are waiting for him to join our group. All he needs is some tailpipes and he will be in and with his low 10 second Mustang and I can hardly wait for a match up as he beat me in a grudge race and I need to redeem myself. Both Trent and Leroy were out of town so definitely a quiet night. This is why when the internet warriors say it is easy to have a quick street car I say Baloney... So here is how our

List sits
#1 Steve Betker
#2 Brian Stephenson
#3 Trent Turner
#4 Rick Bell
#5 Jamie Marjoram
#6 Mark Dyck
#7 Nolan Penner
#8 Leroy Schmidt
#9 Scott Gerhardt
#10 Paul Fehr

With Justin, Jamie and Brad done for the season Mark and Nolan move up a spot, Leroy and Scott move back on to the List and Paul now earns a spot as our new Gatekeeper. Scott earns the distinction of being on the Top Ten list as well as the Real Street list where he is the #6 man only do to the fact he is always trying to figure out how to keep on the good side of 11.50. Trent and Brian will be out next time and I will have to defend my position which will be interesting, Jamie wants to move pass Rick who isn't going to just roll over and time will tell who can climb up the Performance Plus Top Ten list. So once again this is your Racemaster and currently once again #1 and( I am not sure how) signing off.

August 17, 2016 TOP 10 "Put Up or Shut Up" FASTEST STREET LEGAL

I raced Rick next and once again do to my sub stellar reaction time ended up chasing him down the track, once again I was able to get by him and hold my spot. Then it was 2 newcomers Andy McElwee and his Nova SS which is one of the city's fastest street cars against Justin Heroux driving his dad's Buick and there was just no way of catching Andy who ran a 8.94. 2nd round saw Andy running past Nolan's tire spinning Fairlane, Brad then went by Mark which I thought was not nice as Mark helped him with his car and then finally Brian went by Rick which was a closer battle then we thought it would be as Brian was really having trouble getting the car to go forward. Then for the final match up of the evening we had Rick graciously allow Trent to race him as we usually only do 2 call outs in an evening and Trent made his best pass of the evening and got by him and then they both headed to the pits, changed tires and drove home...

#1 Steve Betker
#2 Brian Stephenson
#3 Trent Turner
#4 Rick Bell
#5 Jamie Marjoram
#6 Brad Ens
#7 Mark Dyck
#8 Andy McElwee
#9 Nolan Penner
#10 Justin Heroux

This upcoming Friday will be another Street Legal and it will be another chance for us to duel it out and we have Leroy who will be trying for his position back and Paul Fehr looking to get on the List. So this is your Racemaster and current # 1 ( but not for long) signing off.

August 5, 2016 TOP 10 "Put Up or Shut Up" FASTEST STREET LEGAL

This edition of our Performance Plus Top Ten got a shakeup as the motor blues have gotten to 50% of our current Top Ten runners. Brian Stephenson's engine torched a couple pistons and hurt the cylinder head but is being fixed so he should be out for our next event. Jamie is also scrambling to get his fixed and hopes to be out for the next event. Trent Turner had his engine apart and didn't have it ready for Friday but was out Sunday and was happy with the way it was working so he will be out for the next event. Mark Dyck's engine was suffering from bearing issues and he finished putting it together early Saturday morning only to have the same problem come back and haunt him again. He is also hoping to get it back together for the next meet. Stan Heiber also had his engine apart and hasn't had time to get it back together. So with a lot of guys sidelined it is time for the real street cars to rise to the top leaving Rick in his Camaro to race my Falcon. I barely beat him in a very close race as even though I had enough power to get by him, he got a huge jump off the line and it took the length of the track to get passed him. Brad Ens was not able to make the race and Nolan wasn't either so when the smoke cleared here is how it sits...

#1 Steve Betker
#2 Rick Bell
#3 Brian Stephenson
#4 Jamie Marjoram
#5 Trent Turner
#6 Mark Dyck
#7 Leroy Schmidt
#8 Brad Ens
#9 Stan Heiber
#10 Nolan Penner

Well we will see who gets their stuff together for the next event and see if Rick and I will be able to stay at the top because Rick and I discussed it and we think that is where we belong... I would also like to say that it was pretty cool when I was driving through traffic on Friday morning and passed Leroy Schmidt driving his Top Ten Camaro going the other way. The only thing that would have made it better was if I had been driving my Falcon at that time as I had been driving it earlier that morning. Brian and I have decided that because the guys have had so many problems we will now do the run off at the end of the year. We are also going to give you Top Ten runners a better chance to run in this so you will only need to participate in 2 events plus the final to qualify. So Justin hang some exhaust on that Buick and get in the running. So that is it for this edition of the Performance Plus Top Ten list and this is your Racemaster and currently #1 signing off.

July 22nd 2016 TOP 10 "Put Up or Shut Up" FASTEST STREET LEGAL

The Performance Plus Top Ten List had few changes this time around as there wasn't many call outs do to factors beyond my control. Stan Heiber had to take care of some business in Arizona. Leroy's wife seemed to think a family reunion was more important than racing and Rick Bell was in Las Vegas playing the role of Pool Shark. Because I am a good sport I did not call out my fellow competitors Brian and Jamie who are both busy trying to get their engines fixed as they both decided they wanted attention in the way of new pistons. But I don't know how long I can wait before I become the bad guy and try to sneak into #1 spot. Scott finally relinquished his spot and decided to focus on becoming #1 in Real Street. Nolan Penner is a new edition to our List with his 1966 Fairlane which was on our list last year till his crankshaft split in two pieces and over the winter fixed it and added some more power to it. So here is how the list sits.

#1 Brian Stephenson
#2 Jamie Marjoram
#3 Steve Betker
#4 Rick Bell
#5 Trent Turner
#6 Mark Dyck
#7 Leroy Schmidt
#8 Brad Ens
# 9 Stan Heiber
#10 Nolan Penner

On the positive side by our next event almost everyone should be here to race and then we can shake this list up. Brad Ens will be back from vacation and definitely has the power to get the job done and you can't hold back Stan and his nitrous Camaro as he doesn't care how much he has to spray into it to get it to the top. With any luck we will also get the race between Mark and Trent done as by the time Trent was ready for the race the rain came and ended it. Rick has also called me out and said he was going to do whatever it takes to get by me even if he had to start taking partsoff his car to do it. So till next time Brian and I would like to thank you for participating and this is your Racemaster signing off

July 8th 2016 TOP 10 "Put Up or Shut Up" FASTEST STREET LEGAL

The Performance Plus Top Ten List had a few changes this event as after Jamie drove his car back to town after the race. He got home and went later to put it into his garage it didn't seem to be running right and after pulling the plugs found out they were missing the ends after a teardown he found 2 damaged pistons and is now in the process of fixing it. Jeff Campbell has sold his twin turbo Nova and it is headed to BC, I think he figured he couldn't beat Brian's all motor Mustang

so might as well sell it...Also guys a reminder that you have to let me know if you want to move up the list so I can set up the races for you. Here is the list as it stands.

#1 Brian Stephenson
#2 Jamie Marjoram
#3 Steve Betker
#4 Rick Bell
#5 Trent Turner
#6 Mark Dyck
#7 Leroy Schmidt
#8 Brad Ens
#9 Scott Gerbhardt
#10 Stan Heiber

A new edition to our list is Stan Heiber with his nitrous injected Camaro and anyone that knows him knows he will climb rapidly to the top of this list as he was running 9.5's with it and definitely has the potential to go much faster. Trent Turner was unable to make it as work duty's called but will be there for the next one so he will have to wait to take on Rick Bell's 10 second Camaro. By next event Aaron should have his Camaro fixed and will be looking to get back on. Scott decided to take this event off as he knew Stan would be looking for him so we will see if he can hold him off. Noland Penner and his Fairlane will also be out for the next race so you guys at the bottom better be looking out as these guys will be out to steal your spots and send you packing. So hope to see you out at our next Performance Plus Street Legal event to watch us fight it out in our heads up Top Ten class and this is your Racemaster signing off.

June 24th 2016 TOP 10 "Put Up or Shut Up" FASTEST STREET LEGAL

The Performance Plus Top Ten List got quite interesting this week as most of the List cars were at the track to do some heads up racing.

Jamie had called out Jeff for his spot and Rick had called me out for my spot and with a couple of spots to fill here was lots of racing to do. Jamie was hoping to go to #2 but sadly Jeff was fully prepared and Jamie will have to settle for #3 spot till I take it from him...

Steve had a very close race with Rick, luckily Rick spun off the line and Steve got the jump on him. Steve couldn't get his car out of 2nd gear and even though Rick crossed the line 20 mph faster than Steve, Steve made it across 1st. Next time Rick!

Brian made a few test passes as he is currently #1 and just wanted to remind us what a mountain we have to climb to get to him. Aaron was not able to get his car fixed from the previous meets engine fire so he pulled off the list temporarily so the new guys could race forposition. He is hoping to be ready for the next race and will then start climbing up again as he has a lot more power this year.

That left Scott and his Cutlass at the bottom and there was Mark Dyck, Brad Ens, and Leroy Schmidt waiting in the wings to pounce. Scott put up a great effort and because he has an ET limit of 11.50 had to concentrate more on staying within his limit but at the end of it still retains #10 spot. He is also presently on both the Top Ten list and also the Real Street list. He is hoping to someday get a roll bar and be able to climb back up the List.

The race between Mark and Brad to see who would race Scott was one to watch as Brad had to use all his driving skill to keep his Mustang from guard rail dancing as he tried to get it straightened out. Leroy was next and it was a very close race with Scott but he snuck by him at the end. Scott's race between Brad didn't materialize as he went a little to quick and decided to call it a night and Brad was given the position. So as of this race the positions are:

#1 Brian Stephenson
#2 Jeff Campbell
#3 Jamie Marjoram
#4 Steve Betker
#5 Rick Bell
#6 Trent Turner
#7 Mark Dyck
#8 Leroy Schmidt
#9 Brad Ens
#10 Scott Gerhardt

Trent Turner will be out at the next race so he will be available for call outs and wants to call out Rick for his spot before you guys come after him. Stan Heiber will have his Camaro ready to go and with low 9 capability will be coming after us.

So if you want to watch some good old heads up racing make sure you come out and cheer for your favorite. Hope to see you out at our next race and this is Racemaster signing off.

June 10th 2016 TOP 10 "Put Up or Shut Up" FASTEST STREET LEGAL

This Years Performance Plus Top Ten list got off to a scary start when Aaron our present gatekeeper returned from his test run after having made numerous changes to his car this winter was pulling into his pit spot when his car burst into flames and Aaron and our staff went through many fire extinguishers to get it finally put out. Not sure how much damage was done as it looks pretty bad but Aaron said he was going to do his best to get it back out in 2 weeks for the next event.

Scott Gerhardt was hanging around the pits but he didn't have his car out as he was probably tired from hanging with all the cowboys at the Garth Brooks concert. Trent Turner was out with his since named Murder Malibu which he drove from Osler after a quick last minute thrash to get it done and made a number of just on motor passes as he has to figure out why the nitrous solenoids weren't working.

Brian made a few passes running on a 8.5 tire and spinning his way down the track running a best of 9.4 at 125 mph setting the standard for what the fast guys will have to try and beat. Hopefully by the next event we will have all the List guys and those who want to take our spots show up so we can have some heads up racing and see what you guys have for us.

Andy McEwlee and Stan Heiber are looking for a place on the list and both have run in the 9.3's so look out. Paul Fehr is temporarily out as he waits to get a new engine together as his previous one exited stage left. Justin Heroux who last year took his Dad's big bad Buick to the #7 spot took it off the list as they want to leave it intact for his upcoming wedding. Justin said he will be back with his own Cutlass in the future with a BBC on nitrous and will kick our a** but 1st priority his wedding to the love of his life. So here is the list as it stands as of this event.

#1 Brian Stephenson
#2 Jeff Campbell
#3 Jamie Marjoram
#4 Steve Betker
#5 Rick Bell
#6 Trent Turner
#7 Scott Gerhardt
#8 Aaron Timoffee

And then we have 2 open spots for our upcoming guys to fill from Paul and Justin's spots. Hope to see you all at the next event and I have no problem giving up my spot but you will have to race me for it but as soon as I take out Jamie you will have to get by him to get to me. Till next event this is your racemaster signing off and if you are interested in getting involved in this text me at 306-290-8220.
